The article substantiates the methodological principles of assessing the readiness of Ukrainian industry for the transition to Industry 5.0 in the context of ensuring economic security in the context of digital and green transformation. It is proven that the modern paradigm of Industry 5.0, focused on human-centricity, sustainability and combining technological progress with sustainable development, requires the expansion of traditional approaches to measuring the readiness of industrial systems.
An integrated analytical model of the “security–ecology–technology nexus” type is proposed, which combines the logic of risk–impact–readiness and allows for a systematic assessment of the relationship between the risks of digital and green transformation, their economic consequences and the ability of industry to adapt. Within the framework of the model, structural readiness is determined by aggregating three components: security and institutional capacity (Security readiness), ecological and climate resilience (Ecological readiness), technological and human-centric readiness (Technological & human readiness). On this basis, the Industry 5.0 Readiness Index (I5RI) was formed, which integrates indicators of international ratings and official statistical sources, ensuring the comparability of Ukraine with EU countries.
The feasibility of introducing an extended I5RIext model with a corrective function that takes into account the level of external and internal risks and the scale of their economic impact is substantiated. This approach allows us to distinguish between formal structural readiness and actual resilience in real operating conditions, minimizing the effect of "illusory readiness", when high technological indicators are not accompanied by a reduction in losses or an increase in the resilience of the economic system. It is proven that the integration of the security dimension into the assessment of readiness for Industry 5.0 provides a more objective characterization of the industry's ability to counteract cyber threats, resource dependence, climate extremes, and institutional imbalances.
The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility of using the I5RI index and its extended version as a tool for strategic planning, monitoring economic security, and forming a comprehensive industrial policy aimed at combining digital modernization, decarbonization, and strengthening the technological sovereignty of Ukraine.
