Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the problem of enhancing personal effectiveness and adapting self-learning strategies to the challenges of societal digital transformation. The relevance of the topic is driven by fundamental shifts in the global labor market, where the rapid obsolescence of professional skills demands that specialists continuously update their competencies under conditions of severe time constraints. The author critically re-examines traditional linear self-education methods and demonstrates their insufficient effectiveness amidst modern information noise. The aim of the work is to scientifically substantiate and develop an applied model for using generative artificial intelligence as a tool for cognitive enhancement of learning activities. The object of the study is the functionality of the Google NotebookLM platform, examined through the prism of evidence-based pedagogy and the neurobiology of learning. The article systematically analyzes, for the first time, the correlation between the platform’s technical tools and classical mechanisms of human memory. Specifically, it is substantiated that the automatic audio-dialogue generation feature implements the principles of Dual Coding Theory, significantly improving the understanding of complex concepts by engaging different sensory channels. The use of automated quizzes is viewed as a practical implementation of the Testing Effect, enabling the overcoming of the "illusion of competence" and transforming knowledge assessment into an effective memorization method. The application of digital flashcards is analyzed as a method for automating spaced repetition, which is necessary to counteract natural information forgetting processes. The research results in a proposed structured methodology for integrating these tools into a personal self-education system. This approach allows transforming the role of artificial intelligence from a content generator to an intelligent assistant that takes over routine data structuring operations and frees up the student's cognitive resources for critical thinking and analysis. The practical value of the work lies in providing a verified toolkit that significantly increases the productivity of intellectual work and facilitates adaptation to the demands of the knowledge economy.
