Financial security of business entities in modern conditions: problems and prospects

Abstract

In the conditions of modern business, business entities face new challenges and threats. For this reason, it is important to identify the main risks and threats to effectively manage the financial security of business entities. The purpose of the article is to identify factors affecting the financial security of economic entities by key types of economic activity in modern conditions. The basic types of economic activity of the national economy are defined, taking into account the strategic goals of the country, the share in the creation of GDP, available resources. The trends of influence on financial security were studied in the following sequence: determination of the level of entrepreneurial activity based on the number of active business entities; monitoring of volumes of sold products and financed results of business entities, analysis of capital structure and calculation of financial ratios. It was found that the general trend of entrepreneurial activity is a significant decrease in the number of active business entities in 2022, except for the information and telecommunications sector, which means their adaptability to external conditions. Trends in product sales volumes and financial results by basic types of economic activity were determined. To forecast net profit, as a key factor in ensuring financial security, a trend analysis is proposed, the results of which indicate positive dynamics of the indicator in the future. The structure of capital by types of economic activity is analyzed as the main factor of financial security of economic entities. It was found that the capital structure of business entities varied significantly depending on the type of economic activity, a low share of own capital was observed in construction and processing industry, which indicates low financial stability in these sectors. It was established that the analysis of the development trends of domestic economic entities by types of economic activity allows to trace the presence of problems that negatively affect their level of financial security. In view of this, the further development of business entities of various industries will depend on the degree of exposure to risks and their consideration in their activities.
