The Outdoor Research Laboratories of Anthropological Foren- sics In the USA
Abstract
Globalization and related humanitarian issues today increasingly require optimiza- tion techniques of all institutions, organizations and services in this sphere, which should be based on reasonable research, which, in turn, must be legitimate.
Human life - the highest value of society. One of the most serious crimes in almost all legal systems are intentional deprivation of life. Under high territorial mobility of peo- ple in recent decades, officials of preliminary investigation in different countries often have to investigate criminal or unknown causes of death, not only citizens of the country but also foreigners. This often causes some difficulties.
At present only the United States has a unique scientific database of forensic an- thropology through research conducted by Outdoor Research Laboratories of Anthropo- logical Forensics at several Universities.
Databases and anthropological collections of this six single unique in the world US Outdoor Research Anthropological Laboratories of Forensic Medicine used by forensic scientific community to gain knowledge about human decomposition, to develop new methods to determine the interval after death or the time since death for constructive and positive reduction terms of pretrial investigation.
In addition to practical research are used to train students in forensic expertise; training law enforcement officers and forensic personnel; to help search- organizations in the search and identification of people, and finally provide the necessary information for researchers from countries where such research is prohibited.
Because the USA have different climatic regions environment, each object of study can provide valuable information about the process of decomposition of the human body. Each described in the article object brings its share of anthropological taphonomy re- search to help in the forensic, law enforcement, search services etc.
