Abstract

Various automated systems are widely used in the design of modern technical systems and in technological processes. Higher education institutions (HEIs) must train specialists who can effectively apply software products in their professional activities. Students need to learn the basics of engineering graphics and computer 3D modeling. The knowledge gained is necessary for future specialists in their further professional activities.  AutoCAD, a universal graphic design system, is the most advanced software tool for acquiring modeling skills. By creating models of any complexity in space using this graphic editor, users can see their relative positions and estimate the distance between them.  The model can be freely moved around in space, viewing multiple options. The ability to control the viewpoint allows you to conveniently select the view of the three-dimensional model being developed.  Zooming and panning in real time with the ability to freely rotate the camera around the model allows you to quickly view objects from any angle. Zooming and panning in real time with the ability to freely rotate the camera around the model allows you to quickly view objects from any angle. This article discusses methods of using the AutoCad graphics editor to create three-dimensional objects, as well as the possibilities of three-dimensional modeling in the AutoCad graphics editor to optimize the educational process for bachelor's degrees in technical specialties, and analyzes the optimal methods for creating drawings. Examples of choosing the most optimal option for creating a three-dimensional model are also given. The traditional method of creating a drawing of a three-dimensional model consists of creating two-dimensional views of this model. When creating a flat drawing, there is a possibility of error when performing projections, since they are created independently of each other and consist of several images. It is quite difficult to imagine an object in space using a flat drawing. Currently, modern software graphic editors are aimed at creating three-dimensional models that allow you to create realistic models and obtain two-dimensional projections based on them. The three-dimensional modeling method allows you to create a comprehensive drawing with any number of images based on a three-dimensional model.  There are ways to create two-dimensional flat drawings based on a three-dimensional model and the ability to edit ready-made projects inserted from the model space into the sheet space. This method allows us to use tools for quickly creating a system of 3–4 related types for a three-dimensional AutoCad model.
