Abstract

The relevance of this topic stems from the need to deepen the theoretical foundations and develop practical recommendations for building competitiveness in the context of the digital transformation of the economy, which is the basis for this research study. The article examines the features of the formation of the competitiveness of economic entities in the digital economy. It is substantiated that digital transformation changes traditional approaches to ensuring competitive advantages, shifting the emphasis from material resources to innovation, digital technologies, data and human capital. The generalization of modern scientific research has shown the interdisciplinary nature of the problem, the lack of a single theoretical approach and the active development of scientific concepts after 2017.

Key areas of research have been identified, in particular the formation of theoretical foundations of the digital economy, the impact of digital technologies on competitiveness, the role of digitalization as a factor of economic growth. It is proven that digital technologies are important drivers of increasing the efficiency of business processes, the development of innovations and the creation of new business models.

The main approaches to the formation of competitiveness in the digital economy are revealed: resource-innovative, competence-based and institutional. It is established that their integration ensures the comprehensive development of economic systems. Particular attention is paid to the role of digital transformation, platform business models and the use of data as a strategic resource.

It is substantiated that, along with new opportunities, the digital economy creates a number of challenges, including digital inequality, cyber threats, dependence on global platforms and rapid technological obsolescence. These factors require adaptive mechanisms for managing competitiveness and strengthening institutional support.

It is concluded that competitiveness in the digital economy is becoming dynamic and requires constant updating of development strategies, integration of digital technologies and development of human capital. Prospects for further research are related to improving assessment methods and practical mechanisms for ensuring competitiveness.
