Analysis of the structural and logical essence of the concept of “financial potential of an enterprise”

Abstract

In today's unstable business environment and increasing competition in national and international markets, effective management of enterprise resources and ensuring their sustainable development is of particular importance. One of the components that determines the possibilities of functioning and growth of enterprises is their financial potential.

The financial potential of an enterprise is a necessary condition for its effective functioning. The absence of a clear structuring of financial potential complicates the procedures for its assessment and improvement in the practical activities of enterprises. In contemporary economic literature, there is no unified approach to the interpretation of the concept of “financial potential of an enterprise”, which determines the relevance of this study.

Clarifying the essence of the financial potential of an enterprise is necessary to form a unified scientific approach, improve the quality of financial analysis, and ensure effective enterprise management.

The aim of the article is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the structural and logical essence of the concept of “financial potential of an enterprise” and to refine its definition.

The article analyzes existing interpretations of the concept of “financial potential of an enterprise”, identifies their characteristic features, and formulates a refined definition of this concept.

The financial potential of an enterprise is proposed to be understood as an integral unity of the enterprise’s financial system, which includes a set of financial resources, financial capabilities, and organizational and structural capacities, and ensures the sustainable long-term development of the economic entity. This definition, in addition to the traditional components of financial potential (resources and capabilities), also incorporates an organizational component, which makes it possible to take into account the specific features of the organizational structure of financial management within the enterprise. The effectiveness of such business processes as the coordination of financial flows and the manageability of all areas of activity; the implementation of basic management functions; the allocation of responsibilities, ensuring financial discipline and control; the effective management of cash flows; and the provision of responsiveness and flexibility in financial decision-making largely depends on this component.

The proposed definition makes it possible to clarify the essence of the financial potential of an enterprise and to deepen its understanding.

A deep understanding of the essence of an enterprise's financial potential allows for an objective economic analysis of the enterprise's activities, a reasonable assessment of opportunities, a more accurate determination of the financial condition, and an effective management of its development in the context of the need to adapt to modern business conditions.

The obtained results provide a basis for further research on the financial potential of an enterprise and its practical application within management systems.
