MODERN GENDER STEREOTYPES IN THE MEDIA SPACE AS A FACTOR OF INFLUENCE ON THE SOCIALIZATION OF STUDENT YOUTH

Abstract

The article reveals and analyzes modern gender stereotypes, which are accumulated and imposed in the media space. It is noted that the main object of influence of these stereotypes is the student youth, as the main consumer and user of information resources on the Internet. It is emphasized that one of the general functions of social networks is the formation of public opinion, and as the authors note, social networks perform this function in a democratic society, organizing discussions on important social issues, providing opportunities for all interested citizens on a wide range of issues. The main mechanisms of formation and preservation of gender inequality in social networks are determined and the main tasks of gender education of teenagers are characterized, and regularities are determined.
A thorough analysis of media content based on interviews and surveys of adolescents, including students of secondary schools in Kharkiv according to selected criteria: cognitive, motivational and behavioral. A survey of teenagers to identify their most popular content on social networks, made it possible to determine that the areas of interest of girls: fashion and beauty, needlework and beauty industry, etc.; guys: sports, training, music, games, etc. It has been determined that gender-sensitive materials are those materials that are aimed at reducing discrimination on the grounds of gender and cover gender issues in various spheres of public life, including social networks.
The article presents monitoring materials, during which the number of gender-sensitive materials on the Internet was analyzed and their socializing impact on student youth was determined.
