Abstract

The article highlights the essence of the teacher's research competence and reveals the stages of organizing future teachers' research work of the Ukrainian language and literature. A complex of pedagogical conditions for the effective formation of research skills and abilities is presented, which consists in the integration of research work into the process of professional training of future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature in the study of special disciplines (writing term papers), internships (primarily pedagogical) and extracurricular scientific activities (preparation of abstracts, articles, competitive student research).
The indicators of the formation of research activities have been determined: the ability to formulate the goal and hypothesis of the research; the ability to process various sources to collect the necessary data; the ability to choose the main and auxiliary research methods, the ability to determine the practical direction of the research.
It has been established that the effective formation of research skills should take place only under the clear and constant guidance of a teacher, the purpose of which is to ensure constant monitoring and correction of the levels of formation of research skills, motivation to improve research skills.

It is proved that the formed research competence of the future teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature contributes to the activation of educational and cognitive activity, creative thinking, research skills of a specialist, develops scientific intuition, a creative approach to the perception of knowledge and their application in solving the posed educational problem, allows the teacher-philologist to become more flexible in the paradigm of their own professional responsibilities, competitive, helps to be more successful in later life.
