EDUCATIONAL POTENTIAL OF MODERN FOREIGN LITERATURE IN FORMING THE UNIVERSAL VALUE – LOVE

Abstract

The following idea is substantiated in the article: fiction is endowed with great power of educational potential. Literature is one of the main factors influencing the formation and nurturing of universal values and human qualities at any age. The problem of nurturing such universal value as love with the help of modern foreign literature is of particular interest to us. In the article, we will consider this value as interest and desire to cultivate in one's mind such virtues as goodness, spirituality, creation, acceptance of oneself and another person. Literature is a reflection of reality, features of the country's society, thinking and habits of people. The writer, the artist contemplates and reproduces the reality of the environment through the prism of his/her perception in the work. A literary work is a means of communication between the author, a representative of society, the people of a particular country with the reader. A significant role in the process of forming the student’s personality belongs to the means of fiction. The high educational potential of fiction modern foreign literature is due to the specifics of its content, the assimilation of which is developed by the individual and enriches the inner world with knowledge of spiritual values, experiences of semantic significance. Thus, we, immersed in the world depicted by the artist, perceive, feel emotions, thoughts, moods, trends and problems of either development or degradation of man, a representative of society, nation, bearer of mentality.
