The author's approach to the problem of metaphorization of post-nonclassical educational process in higher school is substantiated in the article. Reliance on metaphor is becoming an alternative to traditional pedagogy in order to reorient it to human focus.
The metaphorization of the educational process is directly related to the mechanism of thinking: it is an integral part of it. Metaphor is considered as a part of the cognitive processes that enables the path from the perception of the artistic image to the formation of the concept.
It is emphasized that the metaphor allows assess positively the organization of the educational process. Metaphorical thinking is seen as thinking based on the movement from specific objects to the understanding of value-based ideas and their associative connections.
The article provides examples of tasks related to the diagnostics and development of value-based orientations of students of higher art institutions. Based on the analysis of the storytelling scenario "We both mourned with the same sorrow, and both rejoiced with the same happiness…" the possibilities of approbation of the metaphor in the content of art education are shown. The analysis of the performed tasks testifies to the fact of expediency of reorientation of the educational process organized in the spirit of post-nonclassical pedagogy. The intellectual and creative forces of teachers and students are involved in the implementation of the project, which covers various types of artistic activity. It is noted that, guided by nonlinear logic, we get the main product of the student's work – his personality that enables transition from image to concept (image-metaphor-symbol-concept).
