LEGAL BASIS AND FORMS OF SOCIAL WORK WITH ELDERLY PEOPLE

Abstract

The article examines the issue of modern forms and directions of social work with the elderly, which contribute to the improvement of the system of social protection of the population in Ukraine and its harmonization with European legislation. The latest scientific research devoted to the problems and features of the elderly and the specifics of social work, issues of organization of socio-pedagogical support of the elderly are analyzed. The general bases of the state policy regarding the elderly, defined by the resolutions of the UN General Assembly and the general bases of the state policy regarding the elderly defined by the Constitution of Ukraine, are considered. The concepts of social service and social service for the elderly, as well as the types of services within the scope of social service, are defined. The main tasks of social services for the elderly in Ukraine are described. Institutions and institutions dealing with the support of elderly people in Ukraine are highlighted. The typology of areas of social work in the community with elderly citizens is considered. Prospective directions for updating, improving, and adapting current legislation in accordance with European standards and implementing the latest methods and technologies for working with people of the "third age" are outlined.
