GENERAL STANDARDS OF SOCIAL WORK

Abstract

The article highlights and substantiates the modern standards of social work, which determine the directions and tasks of social service to the population. The structure, elements, functions, methods, directions and forms of social work are analyzed.

According to the identified standards of social service to the population, programs for the implementation of social work have been revealed in accordance with the needs of various categories of citizens (minors, disabled, youth, social work with families, etc.). Among them, the following are highlighted: income support programs related to social assistance, subsidies and other state payments to various categories of citizens; and programs of social service institutions aimed at restoring and maintaining the social functioning of certain groups of citizens in society.

The practical activity in institutions of social service of the population has been substantiated and social institutes have been established (service services, therapeutic and rehabilitation services, socialization and development services, penitentiary institutions, etc.) in which social services are provided to the population in the following directions: counseling, social correction and rehabilitation, prevention, social services at home and in stationary institutions, provision of temporary shelter to the needy, etc.

The analysis of scientific literature revealed that the implementation of social work in Ukraine is carried out in stages: I stage is the initial assessment of the client's problem; II stage is the development of a plan for the provision of social services. Planning to solve the client's problem; III stage – practical implementation; The IV stage is the result of social work with the client.

It has been established that social work in institutions of social service of the population is characterized by maintaining the level of living standards, and is one of the tasks of the social program of the country.
