Abstract

The article studies the development of operational abilities of students of scientific lyceums in the process of their research activities. A key point in the development of these abilities is operational mechanisms, the appearance of which radically changes thinking processes and creates conditions for the systemic interaction of functional, operational and regulatory actions, which are manifested in increasing the efficiency of memorization and preservation of various types of materials. Operational and regulatory mechanisms are subtly adapted to the requirements of a certain level during the transition from general abilities to special ones in the process of research activities of lyceum students. Each special ability has its own structure, the leading components of which are the features of the development of general abilities that are transformed under the influence of search activity. On the example of the study of the leading properties of language and literary operational abilities of students of scientific lyceums, such features as the presence of creative imagination and thinking were determined; vivid and visual images of memory; highly developed aesthetic values; sense of language and linguistic abilities.

It was revealed that the operational abilities of lyceum students of the linguistic direction, acquired in the process of research, are manifested in their ability to think creatively; find, select, classify and interpret information from various sources, including electronic; create projects in the form of oral and written educational-scientific texts based on the skills and abilities to take into account the structural-semantic, genre-compositional and linguistic-stylistic features of their construction.

It was established that the main indicators of highly developed operational abilities of students of scientific lyceums are such as flexibility (mobility) of mental processes, which is associated with changing aspects of consideration of subjects and phenomena; the rate of development of mental processes necessary for generalizing the principles of problem solving; speed of mental processes; independence in decision-making; breadth of coverage of the spectrum of issues in various areas; depth when revealing the essence of phenomena; consistency of thought; criticality of judgments regarding the strengths and weaknesses of thinking. It was determined that operational abilities allow lyceum students to understand the material for the purpose of not only memorizing it, but also saving and reproducing it.
