The article is devoted to revealing the essence of peace linguistics and its role in the spiritualization of the individual in times of war. It is noted that the concept of "peace linguistics " is relatively new in modern scientific discourse and is only beginning to be actively explored. It is noted that initially peace linguistics was based on the principles of using language "for peaceful communication", however, currently its meaning and role are significantly expanded and involve the observance of six principles, namely: the choice in favour of peace, and therefore - life; declaring peace instead of violence; sharing peace during verbal and non-verbal communication; using the language of peace at several levels: internal, interpersonal, intergroup, international, intercultural and environmental; perception of each personality as unique and unusual; understanding that the language of peace is not always simple. It is emphasized that peace linguistics has an applied nature since peace should not be a theoretical concept, but a real state that can be achieved with the help of the language of peace, applying the ideas obtained as a result of theoretical study in practice. It is noted that in this desire to achieve peace through language, the participants of the interdisciplinary field of peace linguistics are trying to create adequate prerequisites for peaceful communication of language users in various conditions. It was determined that the language should perform a peace-building and peace-keeping function in human life, the language should be taught, studied, and used for the improvement of a person and to achieve high goals; language users must primarily learn to interact constructively and effectively with each other; language teachers should help students learn to communicate peacefully. As a practical exercise, the questions proposed by the famous researcher, one of the founders of peace linguistics, F. Gómez de Matos, are given, with the help of which you can test both your knowledge and skills on peaceful communication, and offer them to students. Active involvement of students in the study of the foundations of peace linguistics will contribute to the education of a spiritual personality, capable of withstanding and going through the difficulties and horrors of war without losing humanity, faith in the best, and hope for a bright future.
