THE INFLUENCE OF SPORTS ACTIVITY ON THE FORMATION OF MORAL QUALITIES OF STUDENTS, FUTURE TEACHERS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The article presents the results of theoretical and applied research of the peculiarities of the influence of sports activities on the formation of the moral sphere of the Pedagogical University students: the understanding level of the essence of the category of "morality" and the content of moral norms and professionally important for the teacher personality traits is diagnosed, the peculiarities of the research volunteers’ attitude to moral norms are identified, manifestations of morality and observance of moral and ethical rules in behavior and actions are studied, the level of moral behavior formation among the students of the faculty of physical education, future teachers is analyzed.
It is established that the result of sports activities is not only physical, technical, tactical training and sports results, but also changes in the spiritual, moral and ethical, axiological spheres of the personality. The students of the 1st group, who are actively engaged in sports, have much higher indicators of spiritual and moral upbringing than the respondents of the 2nd group, who are engaged in physical culture and sports activities only within the educational classes conducted according to the educational program. It is also revealed that the degree of constructive communication, self-development, self-regulation of actions and emotions is higher among the students – volunteers of the 1st group, who are actively involved in various sports, regularly attend sports self-improvement groups, participate in competitions. The students of the 2nd group have desire to develop moral and cultural potential, but the realization of the goal is much lower than desired.
Thus, based on the analysis of empirical data, the specifics of the impact of sports on the personal development of future teachers, in particular the formation of moral qualities is identified, the importance in the development of spirituality and formation of moral and ethical behavior of students, future teachers is stated, their desire and progress to self-improvement is revealed.
