THE ROLE OF THE FAMILY IN EDUCATION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY OF YOUTH STUDENTS

Abstract

The article considers the importance of the role of the family in the education of the national identity of student youth. There are revealed the peculiarities of family education as a center in which the foundations of the education of universal and national values, spirituality and national identity are laid. It is proven that it is in the family that parents lay the foundation for children's ideas about themselves, about their national roots, form attitudes towards their own and other cultures and traditions of different peoples and ethnic groups, and have an undoubted influence on the level of education of national identity. In family upbringing, the process of personality formation takes place, in which the leading role belongs to the interaction between parents and children, which combines appropriate material and pedagogical conditions for the physical, moral and spiritual development of the child, during which national and patriotic upbringing, and respect for rights and freedoms of the population living in Ukraine and around the world. The degree of formation of a child's national identity directly depends on the degree of the parents' own identity and their views and convictions on this issue, which will be reflected in the ideas and worldview of the younger generation in the future. The directions of education of national identity in family education are outlined, which will help in self-determination of young people. It was determined that the interaction between the institution of higher education and the family of a young person, reliance on family traditions, attitude to one's own and other cultures, ideas about national belonging promoted in the family circle acquire special pedagogical significance and relevance today.
