Abstract

An analysis of the role of digital literacy in the adaptation of the generation of the "third age" to the conditions of the modern information society is given. It is noted that the formation of the information society and the spread of the latest digital technologies is a significant factor in social and cultural transformations, which are also reflected in the generational dynamics of modern Ukrainian society. At the moment, the study of digitalization in modern conditions lags behind the needs of theory and practice. It is noted that the generation of the "third age" in modern conditions feels a lack of knowledge in the field of using digital technologies and recognizes the undisputed leadership in this field by the younger generations.

In addition to that, the results of the study show that the majority of representatives of this age group are actively improving their digital literacy and using it as an adaptation resource in the conditions of the information society.

As a result, it is stated that digital literacy implements a new information reality of socialization and adaptation of people of the “third” age category and is expressed in their comfortable existence in information and digital society.
