Abstract

The article reveals the essence of health pedagogy and the health-preserving potential of the individual as an integrated concept that reflects a certain life position of a person, aimed at preserving and strengthening health and based on compliance with the norms, rules, and requirements of personal and general hygiene. The directions of health pedagogy are determined that contribute to the preservation and development of the health of the younger generation, namely, physical education and health - the preservation and development of the health of children, adolescents and youth by means of physical culture; therapeutic and rehabilitation (improving the health of the child population with the help of physio-, phyto-, pharmaco-, psychotherapeutic measures and physical therapy; hygienic and preventive preservation of the health of students through the rational organization of educational activities; environmentally-saving health development in the formation of environmental education training, organization of activities applicants for education in the preservation and development of health through the actualization of their personal growth, the development of reflexive abilities, the value meaning of life, the ability to make responsible decisions for their own health, ensuring life safety (training students in man-made and everyday factors, confessional – raising a healthy personality with the priority of developing spiritual human life. It is concluded that in the process of purposeful development of health-saving potential, future physical education specialists are stimulated to understand health as a personal value, that is, the presence of a value-based attitude to health, understanding of the culture of health as a component of the general culture of the individual and the desire for a healthy lifestyle. the development of the health-saving potential of education seekers should be one of the main components of the educational process of a modern educational institution, and a society striving to live in harmony with the environment should not only declare, but also form a system of health values for every citizen of Ukraine.
