Abstract

This article presents a study of the influence of value education on the upbringing of student youth. The article examines the problem of values in the modern world and their connection with important scientific and practical tasks. The author notes the changes in the political, economic and social spheres, which are explained by the phenomenon of globalization, and notes that values are beginning to change. Based on data from the World Values Survey, it is shown that values are not converging and the differences between developed and developing countries are widening.

The author analyzes the theory of values of S.H. Schwartz, who singled out 10 main values characterizing the value system in different cultures. It is noted that values are organized into a system according to biological needs, the need for social interaction, and the need for survival and well-being. Emphasis is placed on the fact that values influence people's decisions, attitudes, and behaviors.

The author focuses on the education of the individual, which should be not only cognitive, but also cultural, spiritual and valuable. The author notes that character education is an important basis for the education of the younger generation. The article also considers the practical side of the issue is what values should be included in the education of higher educational institutions in order to prepare young people for the complexities of the modern world.

At the end, the author sums up and suggests further ways of research in this direction, emphasizing the importance of the spiritual and cultural development of a person in a modern globalized society.
