Integration of christian values in the teaching of GSE subjects

Abstract

The article discusses the importance of integrating Christian values into the educational process based on a competency-based approach. The main idea is that knowledge only acquires value when it contributes to the formation of skills, abilities, worldview and values of students. The authors emphasize the importance of the moral and value component for the formation of a harmonious, spiritually developed personality.
Particular attention is paid to the practical experience of the lyceum “Sofia” (Sofiyivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region), where spirituality and morality are integrated into the educational program. The article describes in detail the methods and examples of integrating Christian values in the lessons of various subjects: from the Ukrainian language to physics. Specific criteria for successful integration are presented, including naturalness of connections, relevance to the age characteristics of students, biblical context, and
practical relevance.
It is also substantiated that the integration of Christian values does not contradict the curricula approved by the Ministry of Education and Science and is not a substitute for the traditional educational process. Christian values are interpreted in connection with biblical principles that form a holistic worldview and help students develop moral and ethical qualities.
The purpose of the article is to emphasize the importance of spiritual and ethical education through the educational process and to provide recommendations for teachers on the harmonious integration of values into the educational material.
The detailed description of the basics of the Christian worldview, examples of lesson topics, and methodological approaches can be useful for teachers who want to deepen the spiritual aspect of learning.
