Implementation of the key competencies of the educator-coach in the pedagogical activities of V. Sukhomlynsky

The article shows the coaching style of thinking and pedagogical activity of V. Sukhomlynskyi, because it is based on training thinking and awareness and its main tool is questions. The opinion about the implementation of key coaching competencies in V. Sukhomlynskyi's pedagogical activity is substantiated, in particular the following: demonstrates ethical pedagogical practice; embodies the coaching worldview; fosters trust and security; maintains presence; listens actively; awakens awareness; promotes student learning and growth.
It has been proven that V. Sukhomlynskyi's coaching approach to the educational process is manifested in his understanding of the essence of learning. V. Sukhomlynsky saw the mastery of a teacher in the fact that he does not give the student ready-made knowledge, but teaches them to acquire it: to discover the truth, answer questions, recall what is already in the «storehouse of consciousness» In order to carry out training in a coaching style, it is necessary to raise the level of the teachers' thinking culture.
The idea that the main principles of V. Sukhomlynskyi’s pedagogical system are consistent with the main principles of coaching interaction is illustrated, and V. Sukhomlynskyi’s requirements for the teacher's personality are, in fact, requirements for the teacher-coach.
It is shown that caring for the emotional well-being of pupils, understanding the self-worth of childhood and recognizing the child as the highest value, love for the child and the ability to reveal its intellectual and creative potential on the basis of conformity to nature, humane communication, individual conversations with students – these coaching approaches embodied by a recognized classic of pedagogical thought of the 20th century. V.O. Sukhomlynskyi, and today are the most important conditions for creating an educational environment favorable for successful learning and harmonious development of a child.
