Abstract

The article addresses the issue of developing the research culture of future preschool educators as an essential component of their professional training. It emphasizes that a contemporary preschool teacher should possess not only professional knowledge and practical skills but also research competencies that enable the analysis of pedagogical phenomena, the identification of effective solutions to professional challenges, and the implementation of innovations in the educational process.

Research competence of a preschool educator is defined as an integrative construct encompassing motivation for scientific inquiry, a system of theoretical knowledge, research skills, and personal qualities required for conducting educational research. It is argued that the development of this competence is facilitated through the ability to identify research problems, justify their relevance, formulate research aims and objectives, select appropriate research methods, analyse research findings, and effectively present the results.

Particular attention is devoted to the educational research laboratory of the future preschool educator as an innovative environment for fostering students’ research competencies. Specifically, the paper highlights the application of contemporary educational technologies within the educational research laboratory Spiritual Foundations of Early Childhood as a means of developing research competence, creative thinking, and professional readiness among future preschool educators. The educational potential of project-based, blended, and distance learning technologies, digital educational platforms, web quests, electronic portfolios, pedagogical coaching, facilitation, and reflective practice is examined with regard to integrating educational, research, and practical activities. It is concluded that the comprehensive implementation of these technologies promotes the development of research skills, professional reflection, learner autonomy, academic collaboration, and the readiness of future preschool educators for innovative professional practice.
