Abstract

The article substantiates the urgency of student youth citizenship formation in the context of a full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation. Citizenship is considered as a holistic personality formation, consisting of such personal qualities as legal and political maturity, civic self-awareness, sense of civic dignity, civic duty, civic responsibility, civic courage, patriotism; active life position in the historical destiny of someone’s Motherland and its people; self-awareness as a full member of the social community. The peculiarities of citizenship of student youth formation in modern conditions of social and cultural frontier of the East Ukraine is analyzed in the work. The social and cultural situation of the region is identified as a leading factor in the harmonic youth citizenship formation. The main peculiarities of the border as a specific social and cultural and ethno-social space on the border of cultures, ethnic groups, certain political entities and its role in the formation of citizenship are clarified. The outlined problem is also highlighted from the standpoint of the frontier theory, which directs the study of the phenomenon of citizenship in the stream of interaction of different communities, their relationship and interaction in the formation of civil society. It is noted that the border plays an important role in cultural accumulation, development and preservation of identity and cultural independence, which is extremely important today in shaping the citizenship of student youth as future democracy and an active agent of today positive change.
