Abstract

The article describes the development of vocal and choral genres in the works of composers and teachers of Donetsk region. It is emphasized that the development of vocal and choral genres in works of Ukrainian composers of Donetsk region in the second half of the 20th century, when the vocal and choral genres acquired new colors and images, played an important role in the development of the modern musical culture of Ukraine.
It is justified that the work of Ivan Fedorovych Karabyts, a famous Ukrainian composer and a music teacher of the final third of the twentieth century, is brightly traced in his vocal symphonic works. It is stated that a choral concert "Garden of the Divine songs" for choir, soloists, and symphony orchestras became iconic for the Ukrainian musical culture.
It is proved that one of the well-known composers of Donetsk region of the second half of the twentieth century is Oleksandr Nekrasov, the author of music of different genres for symphony orchestras and orchestras of folk instruments, choral and instrumental works, vocal cycles, romances, and songs. The composer's music is known far beyond Ukraine, sounded and acquired recognition in Italy, Canada, Latvia, Poland, Russia, and others countries.
It is justified that O. Nekrasov’s scientific, methodical and pedagogical experience is reflected in his scientific and methodological works, namely, educational programs for music academies of Ukraine and articles on issues of musical pedagogy and methods of working with creative young people.
It is emphasized that far beyond Ukraine they know about the creativity of a composer and a teacher of Donetsk region Volodymyr Stetsenko, the author of many works of different genres, including symphony, chamber instrumental and vocal music, works for folk instruments, songs, etc. The greatest fame was brought to the composer by choral works that entered the repertoire of many performers from the glorified academic choir of Ukraine “Dumka” to students, children, and amateur choirs, which represent the work of the author in many countries of the world: Russia, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Finland, Italy, Ireland, Canada, the USA and, surely, Ukraine.
It is proved that considerable interest in modern researchers is caused by the original style of the composer and teacher of Donetsk region Mykhailo Shukha, numerous works of whom won recognition not only in Ukraine but also far beyond its borders - Requiem “Lux acteme”, masses, spiritual concerts, cantatas, organ masses, choirs, romances, and other works.

The author believes that the development of vocal and choral genres in the works of Ukrainian composers and teachers of Donetsk region plays an important role in the modern musical culture of Ukraine. Works of our talented artists demonstrate a high level of mastering the principles of the art rethinking of the Ukrainian musical folklore and can decorate any repertoire.
