Abstract

The Internet in the new millennium has become an integral part of culture and society. The relevance of studying its influence on the individual is determined by its structural and functional capabilities. In fact, it becomes an institution for the socialization of new generations, which is actively incorporated into family and educational systems as well. At the current level of socio-economic, political and demographic development of the country there is a decrease in the educational potential of the family. It is due to the shortage of funds, opportunities and time for parents to realize the educational function, the shortage of intra-family communication and the disruption of emotional proximity between parents and children, the gap between values of different generations. The mass media and the Internet, in their importance in the process of socialization, are placed in line with a social institution such as the family, forming social norms and values in the younger generation.
It is noted that the formation of the information society and the spread of the latest digital technologies is a significant factor in social and cultural transformations, which are also reflected in the generational dynamics of modern Ukrainian society. The realities of information civilization transform the family, the relationship between parents and children.
Competent use of the capabilities of new communication technologies has positive consequences for the individual, which contributes to increasing or decreasing the educational potential of the family.
