CONCERT AND PERFORMANCE ACTIVITY AS A MEANS OF SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OF APPLICANTS FOR HIGHER MUSIC AND PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION

Abstract

The article deals with the possibilities of spiritual development of applicants for higher music and pedagogical education by means of concert and performance activity. It analyses the views of domestic scientists with respect to the essence of such notions as “spirituality”, “spiritual development”, “spiritual culture”. The types and forms of concert and performance activity are specified. These types include solo instrumental and vocal performance of musical works, accompaniment, performances in instrumental or vocal ensembles, performances as members or conductors of orchestras and choirs. It has been noted that the concert and performance activity forms may be very diverse: thematic concert lecture, musical conversation, music-literature composition, music room, music quiz, competitions and festivals, etc. The most concert performances of future music teachers take place remotely in conditions of martial law in Ukraine. At the same time, students continue to perform offline for migrants and other segments of the population if it is possible to comply with safety standards. A lot of such concerts are charitable in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The article highlights the most typical disadvantages of higher education applicants in the concert and performance activity and identifies the basic conditions that facilitate its effective organization. The article substantiates the conclusion that the spiritual development of student youth is one of the most important tasks of modern higher education. Concert and performance activity is an effective means of such development, as it forms value orientations, patriotic feelings and national identity of future specialists, who will become the real art front fighters and will promote spiritual culture of the Ukrainian nation.
