Abstract

The article characterizes digital technology in the professional and pedagogical development of a teacher.
It is noted that the use of digital technology or Internet resources in the process of teaching various educational courses is considered one of the urgent issues of education today. The main effective solution to this issue is the use of electronic editions of educational complexes and educational and methodological materials.
It has been proven that this technology is valuable as it provides free access to informational and educational materials and facilitates the use of video and audio files in the educational process. There is a practice of active use of online lessons, webinars, integrated practical classes, and laboratory work. New opportunities for scientific work are opening up, in particular, group and collective research, interactive project activities, as well as conducting trainings, online communication with fellow teachers, etc.
It has been found that the process of digitalization of education and any other spheres of human life involves the formation of a digital (informational) culture in it, which makes it possible to competently use the opportunities that open up and organically enter the middle of the information society.
The readiness of educational institutions for the professional training of specialists of the digital society will require not only further technical and technological modernization of the sphere of education but also training (retraining) of professors and teaching staff: development of digital literacy; formation of the ability to digitize educational and methodological material and use it in pedagogical practice; the ability to develop electronic textbooks with elements of interactive technology and programmed learning, create massive open educational courses and implement the educational process in online and/or mixed mode, including effective communication skills.
