Abstract

The article studies the history of children's choral performance in Ukraine from the second half of the twentieth century to the present, analyzes the activities and creative achievements of children's choral schools as centers of fostering love of choral art in the younger generation.

It is emphasized that Ukraine has a long tradition of children's choral performance and has accumulated considerable practical experience in educating children in choirs.
The author of the article notes that there is a fact of significant reduction of the importance of children's choral performance in educational institutions, which requires the revival, preservation and enrichment of the traditions of children's choral performance in Ukraine.
Having analyzed the experience of practical activities of children's choirs in Ukraine, the author states that choral singing has always been the most accessible, emotional type of children's collective creativity, which has an impact on the spiritual, emotional, and aesthetic development of children.
The author of the article notes that vocal and choral education influences the formation of musical culture of the younger generation.
It is underlined that there is a need to revive the traditions of mass children's choral performance in Ukraine, which are to raise love to national musical art amongst younger generation by engaging in choral activities; personal development and creative realization of each member of the choir; concert activities; active participation in competitions and festivals, where choirs will be able to worthily represent and promote Ukrainian choral art not only within our country but also abroad.
